Here are all my best drawings from the course.

Day 4 - the final day

Day 2 collage

Here's my favourite from day 2

One of the things I've been meaning to get to is this.

All the drawings from the creative drawing class. *see previous posts for more info. Unsurprisingly I was putting it off as there's so much work. I've tried to rationalise 4 days of drawings so please, bear with me.

There was a huge list of supplies and materials we needed to get before the classes started, including 30 sheets of paper a day!

Here's a feel of drawings from day 1:

I'm busy busy at the moment, so here's a photo from my trip to Glurns/Gloriana on Saturday.

So after some serious wool based activities, with Ma and Sis, I headed down to London to do a fantastic drawing course with my Pa. The course was with Ruth Eisenhart and part of the University of the Arts short course programme. You can find out more here.

We were an international bunch of students, I have to say it was great to be in an art college studio again. It felt like I did on my pre and foundation art courses.

Change was/is afoot.

So let me just give a bit of background - I realised that I was avoiding drawing and painting faces because I felt I had never learnt how to. I wanted to develop my confidence so that when I was life drawing, they were no longer images of headless figures!

I always thought... one day I'll learn how to do that, but seriously when is that far away day in the future? Now, is the time.

So I started the year, in my Saturday art class, copying pictures, photos and other artists work.

Here's a selection of them; before.

So there was Edinburgh Yarn Festival
Where I did a darning workshop with Tom of Holland. And I learnt a very important lesson, I'm pretty entry level when it comes to my knitting skills. Which is fine, plenty of things to learn!

So April passed by and here we are in May. I haven't been resting on my laurels, indeed the Easter break was full to bursting with both creativity and family.

Starting more recently we went to Lisbon for the weekend and visited Cascias, Sintra and Cacilhas.

I also made some snug wrist warmers for my longest and dearest friend. They are made from the softest wool; malabrigo. They were meant for her trip to Ireland but what with one thing and another they were delayed! Maybe next time X

Some Saturday morning drawings.

I made a special gift for a special person, 2 linen napkins. We are often too busy to sit and enjoy food properly with our loved ones. I made these for them to celebrate their mealtimes.

There's a very helpful tutorial on Purl Bee's blog. Although not perfect I was very happy to have done such a good job, I liked adding the freestyle detail of the little napkin ring and button detail too.

I'm not very accomplished on the sewing machine but I really enjoy small scale projects and seeing my skills and confidence develop.

It's February!
I have: finished a pair of socks, enrolled on a portrait course at St Martins at Easter, booked tickets for the Edinburgh Yarn Fest 2016 (with little sista and mama) and finally after, could it even be more than a year, my pop knitting book.

More photos to follow, I have to say I'm really pleased with how this looks. It's just a swatch to practise and to use up some left over wool. Perfect Valentines day, a slight hangover, Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore on the telly in Ghost

Life is good!

Happy 2016

Phew, just managed that before the end of January.

Here's a collage from our New Year walk in San Llorenc natural park. We hired a car and went on a little adventure. Very warm and almond blossom on the trees.
