La Isla
At the start of September we had a little holiday to Asturias in northern Spain. The coastline is very similar to Cornwall and there were moments when we laughed about just how much. Cudillero was our first stop, delicious food and lovely people. It felt like Padstow, but the parking was cheaper!

We saw dinosaur footprints see below, can you tell it's from a vege dino! And we saw some cave paintings (well, reconstructed ones in Altamira).

Then we went into the mountains to the Picos de Europa, through Covadonga. The weather was very cloudy so, although we managed to get up to the top, we couldn't really enjoy the views!

Here's one of the lakes.

Some of the food...
We picked and ate blackberries almost every day! Yummy.

De Bulnes

These wooden structures litter the countryside in Asturias and are for storing grain. They were usually constructed without any nails and fitted together like a big jigsaw.

San Vicente de la Barquera

There was also an amazing display of pumpkins and gourds outside someone's house! Eyecatching, isn't it?
